Volvo has a reputation for building safe, sensible and somewhat boring automobiles, but the company is hoping to change that by entering the Swedish Racing Elite League.
Seen here for the first time, the S60 TTA has a carbon fiber body with a ventilated hood, aerodynamic side skirts and a massive rear wing. There's also 18-inch wheels that are backed up by high-performance brakes with four-piston calipers and discs that measure 370mm front / 360mm rear.
Motivation is provided by a hybridized V6 engine which produces 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS). It is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission which sends power to the rear wheels.
The model will enter competition later this year with two teams: Volvo Polestar Racing and Volvo Polestar Performance. Only three drivers have been confirmed and they include Robert Dahlgren, Fredrik Ekblom and Thed Björk.

Sjećam se utrke dok je bio još u McLarenu i vozio u Monzi... ćini mi se, ako se dobro sjećam da mu je zadnja desna guma izgubila sloj gume, te je svaki čas mogla puknuti... Bilo je ili u boks po nove i osigurati bodove, ili do kraja na ovim gumama riskirati sve bodove... Na kraju kakvog ga svi znamo, odlazi do kraja, gume izdržale i pobjeđuje! nikad ga nisam volio, ali sad bi dao sve da se vrati nazad... Njegov temperament je ono što treba F1 i što bi možda čak i vratilo F1 na stare staze, gdje suci nisu imali toliko utjecaja kao danas...

Jesi gledao trku, čuo Montoyin radio? Prije toga je bio u boksu jer nešto nije bilo u redu s autom. Sam je na radiju rekao da nešto nije u redu i da ga auto ne sluša. S autom koji ne sluša nemaš šta raditi u trci s prosječnom brzinom od preko 300 kmh.

Saab's future remains in doubt, so it's refreshing to learn that Flash Engineering has unveiled their new 9-3 TTA race car.
Set to compete in the Swedish Racing Elite League, the model has an aggressive body kit with new bumpers, flared wheel arches and revised side skirts. There's also a ventilated hood, a rear diffuser and a massive wing.
Four vehicles will be built and they will be fielded by Team Tidö. The driver lineup hasn't be finalized, but we can expect to see Jan Nilsson, Mattias Andersson and Linus Ohlsson behind the wheel.
Acknowledging the recently revealed Volvo S60 TTA race car, Flash Engineering Managing Director Jan Nilsson commented "I have longed for 40 years to see the fight between Saab and Volvo on the race tracks. It becomes reality this summer and my biggest dream is to get all Saab fans to the TTA races to cheer us on."

A brand new BMW 335i (F30) equipped with BMW Performance parts has been unveiled as a race car for the first time in South Africa.
BMW South Africa in conjunction with ADF Motorsport will compete for the first time in the local production car championship, the Wesbank Super Series race meeting, at Killarney in Cape Town on 31 March 2012 and then at the 2012 Nurburgring 24-hour race later this year.
Weighing just over 1,360 kg (2,998 lbs) the BMW 335i race car maintains the same 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine with the standard internal parts. However, all modifications, which include various BMW M Performance parts, feature a new engine management system, exhaust system and turbocharger alterations according to race regulations.
More specifically, a MoTeC engine control unit is used making the 335i the first in the world to run direct injection on a production based race car. Also, the turbo system has been dialed to run lower boost (maximum 0.7 bar) and a 40mm restrictor on the turbo inlet. Despite this restriction, the engine still produces more than 408 HP (300 kW / 402 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque compared to the standard specs of 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).
Other racing enhancements include 370mm M-performance front disk brakes, 18 inch BBS wheels, Akrapovic exhaust system and a GPS data logging system.
ADF Motorsport built the 335i race car in just over six weeks at a cost of R2-million ($260,000).

The much vaunted collaboration between Super GT has collapsed after a crunch meeting in Tokyo ended in acrimony. GTA the organisers of Super GT and ITR the DTM governing body had been working on a deal which would see the GT500 class run to the same technical rulebook as DTM.
However whilst the Japanese had agreed to utilise the DTM chassis design they wanted it to be made domestically, ITR insisted that the GT500 chassis should be identical to those used in DTM and be built in Germany and was reportedly angry at the suggestion of a Japanese chassis. The German delegation left the meeting and negotiations appear to have collapsed.
Another sticking point was the engine formula, currently GT500 uses 4.3 litre V8′s based on Formula Nippon engines (aside from Nissan which uses a production based unit), whilst DTM uses a four litre V8. In 2014 however GT500 will switch to a two litre turbo charged engine with hybrid drive alongside Formula Nippon which will also make the switch, whilst the performance of the cars would be similar ITR was not keen on the concept.

Super GT’s second class is in turmoil after FIA GT3 spec cars dominated the opening round of 2012 at Okayama. The GT300 class mixes cars built to the very open JAF GT300 regulations against cars built to the FIA GT3 rulebook as well as a few others that do not fit into any other category like the Daytona Prototype based Mooncraft Shiden.
At Okayama Audi’s R8 LMS won on its Super GT debut with the highest placed non GT3 car finishing 6th, 1.5 seconds off the pace, and neither of the JAF rules cars (Subaru BRZ & Toyota Prius) finished the race. GTA, Super GT’s governing body is expected to make drastic changes to the regulations in the class to encourage cars built to the JAF regulations. The ‘others’ that do not meet either rule book have been heavily restricted, as they are able to run under 2011 regulations albeit with a 2012 restrictor which has caused a number of issues – with one engineer telling RCE that “when we designed these cars, there were never any provision to run big restrictors. As a result, there is just no space (ideally) for the bigger restrictors. On the Shiden, the restrictor flutes now extends way inside the airbox and this has messed up the air flow. In fact, on the Garaiya, they reported that the car is actually less responsive than last year.”

Group B rally is back :D
A new UK-based event, taking place on the roads of Cheshire and North Staffordshire, will see Group B legends, such as the Peugeot 205 T16, Audi S1 quattro, Metro 6R4 and Ford RS200 take part in a competitive rally - an extremely rare occurrence since the hugely expensive and powerful rally cars were banned for being 'too fast to race' in 1986.
Taking place over the weekend of 25-26 August, the rally has so far attracted over 60 entries - so expect an amazing line-up of retro-rally cars. Sponsored by Michelin, the rally is currently the UK's only multi-venue rally for Group B cars.

Standard production Nissan GT-R to compete in Nurburgring 24 Hours
Nissan has announced their GT-R Development Team will contest this year's Nurburgring 24 Hours race in Germany with a production-version GT-R (Club Track Edition). Nissan says the reason for this is to collect data which will be used to improve the GT-R as it evolves over the next five years.
That sounds nice, but who are they trying to fool? This is about bragging rights.
Reading between the lines of a press statement, it says, "Nissan will assess its endurance capability in the toughest environment (24 hour race) at the world's toughest circuit (Nordschleife) against strong competitors-European sports/super car manufacturers' factory racing cars."
Nissan wants to see if they can embarrass the competition running race prepped vehicles as opposed to their "off the showroom floor" GT-R.
Even in the single press image that was attached to this announcement, the GT-R is not prominently shown but instead a shot of the local heros from the N24 last year.
Racing at the Nurburgring 24H last year for the first time, a race prepped GT-R by Schulze Motorsport won the SP 8T class and finished 36th overall.
This year the Nurburgring 24 Hours takes place from May 17-20.

Move over BMW, there's a new taxi on the Nürburgring and it comes from an unlikely source.
Based on the XJ Supersport, Jaguar's taxi is equipped with the Sport and Speed packages. As such, it has a matte grey exterior, a front splitter and a rear spoiler. There's also red brake calipers, gloss black accents and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Interior changes are limited, but include four individual racing seats and a bespoke roll cage.
Like the standard model, power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 510 PS (375 kW / 503 hp) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).

The Seat brand will be displaying two race-spec models at this week's 2012 Wörthersee Tour in Austria.
The first one is the new Ibiza SC Trophy which is now based on the Spanish firm's refreshed supermini and features a 1.4-liter turbocharged TSI petrol unit with 178hp (180PS) under its hood. A 7-speed dual clutch DSG transmission transfers power to the front wheels through a locking differential.
Among other modifications, Seat's motorsport division had added protection plates under the engine bay, more powerful brakes, a race-spec suspension and 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in competition tires. Inside, you will find a roll cage, bucket seats and a race-spec digital instrument panel.
Priced at €31,500 (US$40,500) excluding VAT, the Ibiza SC Trophy is seen as an ideal starter car for amateur racers.
Seat's next offering is the 250km/h (155mph) Leon Supercopa that targets professional racers. The five-door model sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot with 296hp (300PS) from the production Leon Cupra R, which is linked to a six-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission driving the front wheels through a limited slip differential.
The Leon Supercopa comes equipped with all the usual goods you expect to find in a race car such as a body-hugging bucket seat, a full roll cage and a removable steering wheel. In Europe, prices start at €63,000 (US$81,000), not including VAT.

Honda confirms Tarquini and Monteiro for its first season in the WTCC
Honda has announced Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro as its drivers for its first season in the World Touring Car Championship.
The duo will drive the Civic cars run by Italian team JAS Motorsport.
Honda said Monteiro will enter the final three races of the 2012 season at Suzuka, Shanghai and Macau as part of the Japanese manufacturer's development programme.
Tarquini, the 2009 world champion, will start assisting the team already this year.
"We are delighted to have Gabriele back with us and excited to welcome Tiago into the Honda racing family for the first time," said Honda's motorsport boss Hideo Sato.
"Both are former Formula 1 drivers and have also proven time and again that they belong in the absolute top echelon of world touring car drivers.
"We are convinced that both drivers will contribute to the success of the Honda Civic in the FIA WTCC. I'd also like to express a special gratitude to the FIA and Eurosport Events, who have both been instrumental in making our entry in the WTCC possible from this year onwards."

Given that it's a pure design study at this stage, McLaren engineers weren't required to abide to the regular racing regulations so they were able to revise the MP4-12C's 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that gains a unique ECU calibration and optimized cooling system, allowing for a power output of up to 630hp. According to McLaren, the car weighs only 1,200kg (2645.5 lbs).

Important merger between GRAND-AM and ALMS for American motorsport
Starting with 2014, GRAND-AM and ALMS are going to merge as a single series which will consist of probably 12 races, starting with the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The racing community was mostly happy with this decision, with Ford Racing director Jamie Allison saying that this is an “epic moment for sports car racing in America”, while Don Panoz (ALMS founder) declared that this merger will “strengthen professional sports car racing beyond what either of our organizations could have achieved separately."
Before the scheduled merger, both sanctioning bodies are going to operate their own separate schedules in 2013. The post-merger branding is still in the works, as well as the technical rules and the competitive class structure.

The Eurosport Group and Infront Sports & Media announce they have extended their long-term partnership of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship for the 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons, with new exclusivities in four markets.
Eurosport has renewed the TV and digital rights to the eni FIM Superbike World Championship (SBK), including support classes FIM Supersport World Championship and FIM Superstock 1000cc Cup. In a change to the previous deal Eurosport is now exclusive LIVE broadcaster on air, online and on mobile in UK, Ireland, Germany and France.
This pan-European agreement includes all 59 territories covered by Eurosport. All rounds of the three championships will be shown live or delayed in high definition on either Eurosport or Eurosport 2 channels.
Digital rights will see all races, including the Superpole qualifying, broadcast on internet and mobile on the Eurosport Player online streaming service.

Touring car driver killed in Macau GP support-event session
A touring car driver has died following an accident in qualifying for one of the Macau Grand Prix support races.
Phillip Yau Wing Choi, from Hong Kong, crashed his Look Fong Racing Chevrolet Cruze heavily during qualifying for the CTM Macau Touring Car Cup at the high-speed Mandarin bend near the start of the lap.
After coming to rest with heavy damage and on fire, the car was cut open by rescue crews. Yau was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors were unable to revive him.
Yau's death comes less than 24 hours after Luis Carreira was killed in practice for the Macau Superbike race.
A statement from the event organisers read: "The Macau Grand Prix Committee regrets to announce that Yau Wing Choi, Phillip, competitor #31 from Hong Kong, competing in the CTM Macau Touring Car Cup, has succumbed to injuries sustained in a racing accident during qualifying this afternoon.
"The incident occurred at Mandarin Bend at 13:11. The qualifying session was immediately red-flagged.
"After the incident, two fully-equipped rescue car were at the scene, followed by the extrication car. The position of the racing car required cutting in order to facilitate extraction.
"At 13:19, the competitor was removed from the car and at 13:20 Mr Yau was transported by ambulance to hospital, where he was admitted at 13:24. Continuous CPR was performed, however he succumbed to his injuries at 13:51.
"The Macau GP Committee has contacted the family and the members of the team. The Committee expresses its sincere condolences."

Nasser Al-Attiyah and Carlos Sainz pair up for Dakar

2011 Dakar champion Nasser Al-Attiyah will join forces with 2010 winner Carlos Sainz for this year's event.
The pair will compete for the newly-formed Qatar Red Bull Rally Team, in a custom-designed California-built Buggy.
Both men's respective co-pilots are also previous winners: Al-Attiyah's partner Lucas Cruz triumphed with Sainz in 2010, while the Spaniard's guide Timo Gottschalk shared victory with Al Attiyah one year later.
Al-Attiyah competed in last year's event in a Hummer, but spectacular speed was undone by reliability woes and he retired on the second week.
Victory instead went to Mini's Stephane Peterhansel, who will spearhead the team's 2013 squad in pursuit of an 11th Dakar triumph.
He will be joined at the X-Raid team by Nani Roma - second to Peterhansel last year - and Krzysztof Holowczyc, who led early on last year before dropping down to 10th following a spate of mechanical troubles.
Toyota's new Hilux will meanwhile be driven by 2009 winner Giniel De Villiers - third in 2012 - and Lucio Alvarez.
Six Hilux V8s in total will compete in the 2013 Rally, making Toyota the second biggest team to participate.
This year's course will start in Lima, Peru, before winding through Argentina and then finishing in Santiago, Chile, with more than 8,500 kilometres being covered across 14 days of competition.

Robby Gordon confirms 2013 Dakar Rally return in Hummer H3
Robby Gordon will return to the Dakar Rally after confirming he will drive a Hummer H3 in the 2013 edition of the event.
The 43-year-old American, who had five outings in the NASCAR Sprint Cup this year with his own team, will return to the South American event after being excluded from last year's edition.
Gordon finished fifth on the road, but was competing under an appeal which was ultimately rejected following a row over a tyre inflation system on his car.
Dakar organisers said Gordon's Hummer fulfils all regulatory requirements following preliminary checks.
Gordon, whose best result in the South American rally is a third place in 2009, will have Kellon Walch as his navigator.
The Dakar Rally takes place from January 5 to January 20.

Sebastien Loeb to race a McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in 2013
Sebastien Loeb has confirmed he will contest next year's GT Sprint Series in a McLaren MP4-12C GT3.
The Frenchman confirmed his decision at Thursday morning's season launch of the Citroen World Rally Team - the squad with which he will tackle four rounds of the 2013 World Rally Championship.
The nine-time world champion's focus next season will, however, be on racing as he tackles his first year-long series.
In addition to his McLaren outings - which will be run by his own Sebastien Loeb Racing team - he will also prepare for Citroen's proposed entry to the World Touring Car Championship in 2014.
Loeb said: "I will do the World GT Championship. I like the format of the races in this championship it is for two one-hour races through the weekend. There are two drivers and we have the tyre change as well."
He drove an MP4-12 GT3, run by Von Ryan Racing on behalf of his own Sebastien Loeb Racing operation, at this year's French GT Tour final at Paul Ricard.

V8 Supercars to radically revamp race formats in 2013
V8 Supercars will radically revamp some of its event formats next year in what it's billing as "the most significant changes in the history of the sport".
Six of next year's 15 events will run to a "60/60 Super Sprint Format" on Saturdays, with a 120km race split into a pair of 60km halves and separated by a 15-minute break.
A qualifying session will determine the starting order for the first half, while the running order after 60km will set the grid for the second half, which will begin with a rolling start.
The official finishing order will be the positions at the end of the second 60km, while neither half will feature refuelling.
Sunday's races, which will both be individual 120km contests, will also be devoid of refuelling.
The six venues that will stage events running to the new format are Symmons Plains, Barbagallo, Hidden Valley, Queensland Raceway, Winton and Phillip Island.
The V8 Supercar Commission also announced that tyre compounds will be changed for each event in order to provide the "most exciting race" at each venue.
Only three rounds, those at Adelaide, Townsville and Homebush, will retain their 2012 race format and tyre compounds.
Along with the two-driver Sandown, Bathurst and Surfers Paradise enduros, they will be the only events at which refuelling is allowed.
V8 Supercars COO Shane Howard said the changes were aimed at improving the racing and capitalising on the impact of Nissan and Mercedes joining the championship next year.
"These are the most significant changes we have made to our formats in the history of the sport," he said.
"With the new marques joining Ford and Holden in 2013 it was an opportunity for a change across the board while continuing the great traditions of our signature events.
"These changes are purely designed for the teams and drivers to race hard and have a real go."
The final formats of Pukekohe, Yas Marina and Austin events will be finalized at a later date.

New V8 Supercars Mercedes runs for first time
The AMG Mercedes E63 that will join V8 Supercars this season completed its first shakedown test on Wednesday.
Former Ford outfit Stone Brothers has joined forces with ex-GT team Erebus to field the car.
Erebus gave the Mercedes its first run in secret, team boss Ryan Maddison confirmed.
"We are very pleased to announce that today Erebus Motorsport conducted a 20 lap shakedown, under observation of V8 Supercar officials, of the first ever Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercar," Maddison said.
"While the car is still in early stages of development we are very happy with the results and look forward to continuing to develop all three of our cars over the coming weeks, to achieve our homologation requirements."
The Stone/Erebus Mercedes project brings the number of brands represented in V8s this season to four.
The new regulations have also attracted Nissan to take on Ford and Holden.
Existing Stone Brothers drivers Lee Holdsworth and Tim Slade are staying on to drive the Mercedes, but their erstwhile team-mate Shane van Gisbergen chose to leave the series at the end of 2012.

Casey Stoner confirms Triple 8 deal for V8 Supercars
Casey Stoner has confirmed that he will, as expected, race on four wheels this year.
The two-time MotoGP world champion has signed a one-year deal to race a Triple 8 Holden Commodore in the V8 Supercar Development Series.
The 27-year-old Australian denied reports last week that the deal, which has been rumoured ever since he announced his retirement from motorcycle racing last May, had been signed.
But he has now revealed that he will contest the full season in the championship that supports Australia's V8 Supercar series.
"It's a trial year to see how I go and how I like the sport," Stoner told Australia's Daily Telegraph.
"We are definitely making a commitment to it, but at the same time we don't want to go in too deep in case it's not for us.
"I was going to do 75 per cent of the races, but I've decided to do them all.
"I want to get as much time in the seat as I can and try to understand what it's like to drive a V8."
Stoner said he would be open to stepping up to the V8 Supercar category for the enduro races at Sandown and Bathurst, but doubted too many teams would be interested in his services.
"I doubt anyone would want me at Bathurst, but I'm not ruling it out," he added. "It's every Aussie's dream to drive there.
Stoner first tested a V8 Supercar for Triple 8 in December 2011. But has also been adding to his experience with a series of secret track-day runs in machines run by series veteran Paul Morris.

nije,"kompliciranije" je od F1, imaju nekoliko treninga, pa 1. trku(sprint) pa 2. trku(u kojoj je start određen poretkom u 1.) pa 3. trku u kojoj je start određen ukupnim poretkom u kalendaru ako sam dobro shvatio, ima još bitnih činjenica ali je pravilnik napisan kao da je došao s markova trga ;D......

The wraps have come off the coupe version of the DeltaWing experimental racer.
The DeltaWing Racing Cars squad, owned by American Le Mans Series founder Don Panoz, unveiled the show car at Sebring today ahead of the return to the track of the revised version of the car that made its debut in last year's Le Mans 24 Hours.
The coupe will be built around a bespoke monocoque developed at Panoz's Elan Motorsports Technologies facility that will replace the Aston Martin AMR-One tub of the original car.
A race debut of for the DeltaWing coupe has been pencilled in for round three of the ALMS at Laguna Seca in May.
Panoz, the managing partner of the Project 56 group behind the DeltaWing sportscar project, has now taken full control of the programme in the wake of the withdrawal of Nissan, which funded last year's Le Mans assault and supplied its 1.6-litre turbo engine.
Elan has developed a new two-litre engine based around the architecture and cylinder head of a Mazda power pant to replace the Nissan unit.
The DeltaWing, now racing in LMP1, will be driven in Saturday's Sebring 12 Hours by Olivier Pla and Andy Meyrick.

Porsche confirms Bernhard and Dumas
Porsche has confirmed that Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas will be part of its LMP1 driver line-up at next year's Le Mans 24 Hours in the wake of speculation linking Red Bull Formula 1 driver Mark Webber to the German manufacturer.
The announcement is no surprise as Bernhard and Dumas, whose loan period at Porsche sister marque Audi came to an end last year, were always set to be part of its driver squad when it mounts its first bid for outright Le Mans honours since 1998.
Porsche had already stated that the duo, who won Le Mans with Audi in 2010, would lead test and development of Porsche's new petrol-electric LMP1 hybrid, which is due to hit the track in the summer.
Their confirmation appears to be a reaction to the rumours concerning Webber. It has been suggested that the Australian has been offered a five-year contract with Porsche.
This has been denied by Porsche, which insisted that there had been no approach to Webber.
A spokesman said at last weekend's Silverstone World Endurance Championship opener: "We have a very good base with our 10 factory drivers and a decision on whether we will have additional drivers will be made later in the year.
"Choosing drivers are not our top priority, because we are lucky that we have 10 very experienced and fast factory drivers."
Webber has yet to comment on the rumours.
Fritz Enzinger, director of the LMP1 project at Porsche, paid tribute to Bernhard and Dumas's abilities as test drivers.
"For this reason, the pair is already closely integrated in the development programme of our new car and will embark on an intensive test schedule from the middle of this year," he said.
Porsche will be bolstering its line-up next year: few of its 10 factory drivers will make the transition from its GT programmes to the LMP1 project.
Drivers like Jorg Bergmeister and Marc Lieb have as good as ruled themselves out from racing the LMP1.
Porsche is known to be talking to a number of drivers about joining its prototype squad, including privateer stand-out Neel Jani.

The United Kingdom is set to receive another world-class racing facility with planning permission recently being granted for the development of a new £280 million circuit in Ebbw Vale, Wales. Set to be dubbed the Circuit of Wales, the 3.5-mile circuit could attract 750,000 visitors annually and host numerous international motorsport events.
If 750,000 people do visit the circuit each year, that would generation £50 million per year and help support the additional 3000 jobs set to be created during the development of the circuit. What’s more, the Circuit of Wales will then create employment for a further 4000-6000 once completed. Such news comes as a god-send to the region of Ebbw Vale with it having one of the highest unemployment rates in Wales.
The 830 acre development is set to become the United Kingdom’s largest privately funded investment programme for motorsports and the Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is happy with the proposed size of the track and is now awaiting more detailed plans and proposals.
If all goes well, construction of the Circuit of Wales could kick of late this year with a completion date likely for some time in 2016. Construction will begin with the development of a hotel and various retail outlets before attention is then turned to the track which will also include go-karting, off-road and Motocross areas.

Volkswagen really don't seem to 'get it'! The chairman of the supervisory board at Volkswagen Group, Ferdinand Piëch, revealed during a lecture at the Vienna University of Technology that VW are working on a racing version of the XL1 to be powered by a 1.2 Liter two cylinder Ducati 1199 Panigale R superbike engine.
Instead of ditching the XL1's 47 hp two-cylinder diesel engine and showcasing their recently launched EV strategy by installing a high performance 200 kw electric motor into the low drag carbon fiber XL1 chassis, something that might give a Tesla Roadster a runs for it's money, VW decide to stay old school and take a huge step backwards by off-loading the XL1's entire hybrid system.
Not only does the 190 hp / 123 Nm Ducati motorcycle engine have less power and torque than a standard Tesla Roaster, and significantly less than a Roadster Sport (300 hp / 400 Nm) but the V-Twin's peak torque is at 9,000 rpm instead of from 0 rpm like the Tesla. While the XL Sport (795 kg) may have a weight advantage over a Roadster (1,235 kg), it'll still be significantly slower 0-100 km/h and will be about as technically advanced as a motorcycle engine powered Locost Britsh kit car, or even the Piontek Sportech kit car chassis the Tesla powertrain was originally developed in.

Nedavno kupio toyotu aygo za po gradu i nevjerovatno koliko me taj auto odusevio...mali, lagan (manje od 900kg), startan i zvuk trocilindrasa na visokim okretajima... :), potrosnja manje od 5 litara (izvan Zagreba zivim)...
Nikakav elektromotor to nemre zamjenit...

Ucio je klince vozit, to mu je bio drugi i zadnji dan, staza je bila privatno iznajmljena za te instrukcije i decko je vozio 996 GT3. Ali pogledajte na sto auto lici, prednje polovice nema!!
Znam tu stazu, izletili su na ulazak u predzadnji zavoj i auto je isao ravno u zid, uopce nije skrenuo desno. Kvar s kocnicama mi prvo pada napamet jer prije tog zavoja brzina nije prevelika, 200-230 km/h, ali ako nemozes kocit...

NASCAR reveals radical winner-takes-all Sprint Cup title decider
This year's NASCAR Sprint Cup will be decided by a winner-takes-all finale as part of a revamped Chase for the Championship, series bosses confirmed on Thursday.
Previously, the top 12 drivers in the points after 26 races (top 13 drivers in 2013) had their points reset for the final 10 races, with the championship being determined by who scored the most points during those final events.
Under the new system, which will be introduced this season, 16 drivers will progress to the Chase based on how many races they have won during the first 26 rounds, rather than their points total.
The 16th place will be reserved for the points leader if that driver has not earned a win.
From there, four drivers will be eliminated from the Chase after every three races until just four remain in contention when the series arrives at Homestead for its final round.
NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France said that the change is designed to eliminate points racing and put a huge emphasis upon winning races.

"The new Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup will be thrilling, easy to understand and help drive our sport's competition to a whole new level."
As part of the new system, a driver who wins a race during the Chase will automatically progress to the next phase.
No bonus points will be awarded for laps led in the finale, meaning that the championship will be decided purely by finishing position.

Bome, gran turismo je stvarno daleko dogurao. Sad sve preostaje na vozaču. Kad bi bio među boljima, može ući u GP2 a sljedeća stepenica formula 1. Znam da je znanstvena fantastika, ali kad se uzme u obzir da je do tamo dogurao samo što je igrao akademiju.
BTW Ardem je prošle godine sa Kvyatom osvojio naslov. ;D

Proteklog vikenda Martin Kodrić je u konkurenciji od 32 vozača osvojio odlično 12. mjesto u Formuli Renault 2.0 NEC u Monzi.
Martin je prvi puta nastupio u Monzi, a za upoznavanje staze je imao samo dva slobodna treninga. Nakon slobodnih treninga u petak su održane i kvalifikacije. Jedini hrvatski predstavnik je zauzeo 26. i 21. mjesto.
U subotnjoj utrci je vozio fantastično. Sa 26. mjesta se probio do 12. i ostvario zapažen rezultat. U nedjelju je startao s 21. mjesta i još jednom vozio fantastično, no dva kruga prije kraja utrke došlo je do kontakta s Amwegom uslijed kojega je Martin završio svoj nastup izvan staze. Broj odvoženih krugova je bio dostatan za ulazak u rezultate, ali nažalost umjesto za 12. mjesto, samo za 28. mjesto.
U prvoj utrci je slavio Švicarac Deletraz ispred Japanca Sasahare i Francuza Pizzitole. Drugu utrku je dobio Švicarac Jörg ispred sunarodnjaka Deletraza i Nizozemca Schothorsta.
Martin je svojim nastupom zadovoljan. U jakoj konkurenciji i na nepoznatoj stazi vozio je bez straha i probijao se prema naprijed iz kruga u krug. Svaka utrka donosi novo, vrijedno iskustvo. Slijedeći Martinov nastup je u Formuli Renault 2.0 ALPS od 8. do 11. svibnja u francuskom Pau.

Pa priča se o tome već dugo, kreće u 9. mjesecu, prvi su testovi sljedeći tjedan a zgodno je što traje kroz cijelu zimu tako da se ima kaj gledati kad nema F1. Vozi se samo po centrima gradova, bit će hrpetina bivših F1 vozača (Trulli, Senna, Chandhok, Algersuari), onda Di Grassi i Sam Bird, Montagny, a bome i starih F1 timova (Virgin, Super Aguri), Indy timova (Andretti Racing). Svi bolidi će prve sezone biti isti, Renaultov motor, Williamsova baterija, Mclarenova elektronika, Dallarina šasija. Svaki vozač će imati dva bolida za utrku koje će mijenjati usred. Max brzina 220km/h. Trebalo bi biti zanimljivo obzirom na istovjetnost bolida. U drugoj sezoni će dopustiti momčadima samostalan razvoj određenih komponenata.

Zanimljiv je odaziv poznatih vozaca i ekipa. Ovo ima potencijala da predje F1 kroz 10-20 godina. (ako se F1 nastavi ovako unistavati)

Ovo je bilo potpuno ocekivano. Sjecamo se proslogodisnje utrke kad je isto netko sa forum stavio njihovog Nissana kako nosom skace u zrak.
Ovo je jednostavno bilo neizbjezno. Da se nije sad dogodilo, dogodilo bi se u sljedecoj trci na Nurbu.
Da se ranije reagiralo, ta osoba bi sad ziva bila. Jako zalosno.
