Morgan will return to the Le Mans 24 Hours this year in conjunction with OAK Racing.
The revised version of the French team's Pescarolo-based LMP2 prototype will be badged a Morgan LMP2 following a partnership deal with the British sportscar manufacturer. The deal encompasses the solo works OAK entry in the FIA World Endurance Championship, which includes Le Mans, as well as customer versions of the car ;D

Peugeot has announced that it will end its endurance racing programme with immediate effect.
The French manufacturer had been Audi's main rival in sportscar racing, running the variants of its diesel 908 prototype in the Le Mans 24 Hours and associated series since 2007.
"This decision has been taken in the context of a difficult economic environment in Europe," Peugeot said in a statement on Wednesday. "Peugeot has chosen to concentrate resources on its sales performance in 2012."
Le Mans victory in 2009 was Peugeot's greatest success, while last year it won the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup title ahead of the series' transformation into the World Endurance Championship this year.
The decision to can the programme comes amid declining car sales for the Peugeot group, and will be a major blow to the formative WEC - which had been expected to see a season-long battle between Audi and Peugeot.
Toyota is embarking on a new LMP1 programme but will not contest a full campaign this year, while Porsche's new car will not hit the track until 2014.

LeMans 24h i Nurb 24h su dvije utrke koje najviše čekam u godini.I napokon netko iz Japana u LMP1 klasi nakon dugo vremena.E moj Audi ove godine sam kontra tebe.

Nurb mi je puno drazi jer se utrkuju vise manje auti (vizualno) koje mozes otic u ducan i kupit a ovi prototipovi mi nisu privlacni

Ima nesto u tome, slazem se.
Ono sto meni fali na LeMansu je puno vise auta, potop FIA GT1 klase uzet ce danak i ove godine. Naravno, podrzavam citavu pricu sa GTWorld klasom, a pogotovo podrzavam spajanje sa SuperGT, ali steta da su ih troskovi dotukli.
I naravno, najveca steta sto je i FIA GT i Super GT - koji ce zbog spajanja sad tek biti ludilo - nemoguce gledati na Motors TV. A bile su to predivne nedjeykje navecer...

It was also confirmed that the TS030 will make its race debut in round two of the WEC at Spa on May 5 in the hands of the Cologne-based Toyota Motorsport GmbH squad, which has developed the new chassis. The team's participation in further WEC rounds will be confirmed soon.
The TS030's powertrain is based around an all-new 3.4-litre normally-aspirated V8, not the Super GT-based powerplant used in the Rebellion Racing Lolas last year, and uses super-capacitors instead of batteries to store energy from its regenerative braking system.
Toyota is evaluating retrieving energy from either the front and or rear axle and will make a decision on what route to take in the near future.
The TS030 HYBRID continues the nomenclature of previous Toyota Le Mans challengers. It follows the TS010 Group C car of 1991-1993 and the TS020, the internal codename for the car that raced at the 24 Hours as the GT-One in 1998-99

Ako se ne varam - a ne varam se - DeltaWing je prototip za super-efficient racing vehicle koji bi oko 2015 u Americi trebao dobiti svoje zasebno prvenstvo ili nesto.
Mislim da nakon ovogodisnjeg LeMansa ulaze u sluzbenu kategoriju za ALMS.

Japan will not only be represented by Toyota at Le Mans this year as Dome will also be back. The constructors S102 chassis has been updated to the 2012 LMP1 regulations complete with fin and ‘big honking holes’ in the wheel arches. To meet the downsized engine regulations introduced in 2011 a Judd DB 3.4 litre V8 has been fitted in place of the 5.5 litre engine previously installed.

Nissan will provide the DeltaWing's 1.6-litre direct injection turbocharged powerplant, which will be badged after the Japanese manufacturer's DIG-T (Direct Injection Gasoline - Turbocharged) technology. The 300bhp engine has already run in the car during the first shakedown of the DeltaWing at Buttonwillow in California earlier this month.

The aim of the lightweight car is to achieve a level of performance between an LMP1 and P2 car with 300bhp, almost half the power output of a P1 car. The target weight for the DeltaWing is 475kg, which compares with the 900kg minimum of P1 and P2 machinery.
The DeltaWing will be demonstrated in public for the first time during this week's Sebring 12 Hours event.

Bentley returning to 24 Hours of Le Mans
Autoweek is reporting that Bentley has recruited the designer of the 1999 Le Mans 24 Hour-winning BMW as it gears up for a return to motorsports.
The British luxury-car maker has hired Graham Humphrys, who was responsible for the design of the BMW V12 LMR at Williams Motorsport, as a consultant to undertake a feasibility study into the options open to it. He joins a project that includes John Wickham, who was team director at Bentley 10 years ago.
Bentley chassis and powertrain director Brian Gush, whose responsibilities also include motorsport, said, “Graham is helping us out with the feasibility work; he has a lot of experience in both GT and prototypes.”
Humphrys has extensive sports-car experience dating back 30 years. He undertook the mechanical design on the March 82G Group C car, was chief designer at Spice Engineering from 1985 to 1991 and worked at Aston Martin for nearly 10 years as its chief motorsports engineer.
Gush reiterated his previous comments that Bentley is considering a number of options for its return to racing.
“We are looking at a number of things, quite a few of them GT classes and other classes as well,” he said, “but it is important to stress that no decisions have been made.”
Gush last year expressed his desire to return to the prototype ranks, but he has now suggested that the complexity of the 2014 Le Mans rule book, which has been released to teams and manufacturers in draft form, could prevent that.
Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer, who also heads up motorsports for the entire Volkswagen Group, is known to favor a Bentley return in the GT ranks. He has also raised the idea of Bentley selling race cars to customers.
Sources suggest that the most likely route for Bentley's return to the track would be in the GT3 category. This would be the best fit for its existing model range, which does not have a car suitable to take on Ferrari, Porsche and Chevrolet in the top-flight GTE division.

recimo nisančeki lmp i toyote nebi bile loše s obzirom kako su si s polifonijem dobri. pa i audi kad je već u gt5 pa i ferkani i deltawing hm hm. a ni corvetta ni aston nisu za bacit.

Toyota Press Release just in:
Anthony Davidson was taken to the circuit medical centre following his accident during the Le Mans 24 Hours. Doctors at the circuit have confirmed that Anthony is suffering from shock and back pain, however there are no signs of any injuries and he is walking and talking with no problems. He will be taken to a local hospital for precautionary checks but the team is relieved and happy to hear he is okay. Further updates will follow in due course.

Gledao sam ovaj vecernji dio na kaucu, gledam, spavam, pa opet pogledam, pa malo spavam. Imao sam srecu da sam se probudio taman na zoru, predivno...
Navodno su Brundle bundle i Ordonez trebali biti prvi u klasi, ali su imali problema, pukla guma, a onda ih je netko prekinuo i nisam dalje cuo sta je bilo, mozda su opet rekli, ali sam vjerojatno opet zaspao ;D

Meni je žao Toyote, da je ostala u konkurenciji,KAKAV BI TO LE MAN BIO.....i Audi su imali sitnih(brzih) popravaka i situacija na stazi...

Ne, Delt Wing je u novoj klasi koja se vozi kao eksperimentalna - Delta je bila prva ikad u toj "klasi" - i ne sudjeluje u konkurenciji.

Treluyer: Toyota has hybrid rule edge over Audi
Audi's two-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Benoit Treluyer believes that the equivalency formula between front-wheel and rear-wheel hybrid systems has given Toyota an advantage and that the rules should be changed.
Toyota uses a super capacitor-based system on its V8 petrol-engined TS030 that sends regenerated power to the rear wheels, while Audi operates a flywheel in the e-tron quattro that powers the R18's front wheels and gives the car its boost only when it reaches speeds above 120 km/h (through regulation).
Hybrids are only allowed to activate after specified braking zones on a given circuit.
In the early stages of last weekend's Le Mans race, Treluyer engaged in an absorbing wheel-to-wheel battle for the lead with Nicolas Lapierre's Toyota, eventually losing out to his countryman - though the scrap was cut short when the safety car was deployed to deal with Anthony Davidson's accident.
And though the race-winner said he enjoyed racing with Lapierre, afterwards he said he felt it was an unfair fight.
"It was cool, I like that kind of fight and it was important to keep the advantage on them," Treluyer told AUTOSPORT. "That was the first time that I had crossed Toyota's path that weekend, I hadn't seen it on the track before then and I was surprised by the acceleration it had on the exit of the corners.
"The regulation with the hybrid systems from zero onwards for cars with hybrid power going through the rear; I think is a mistake on the regulations and they [Toyota] have a bigger advantage.
"I couldn't fight with Nicolas on the exit of corners because his hybrid system was on a lot earlier than mine. He was accelerating and coming alongside me very easily so I think they should change the regulations."
Treluyer, who shared the winning #1 car with Andre Lotterer and Marcel Fassler, was also forced to swap a stint with the Swiss driver early on Sunday morning after feeling unwell.
"I got sick because I have a throat infection, so it was just difficult to breath correctly and to drink in the car," said Treluyer. "That was the only problem."

da s tim da mu je ljevo svjetlo riknulo, to če ga koštat na pit stopu......
daleko sam od stručnjaka ali mi se čini da je toyotin sistem bolji/brži od audijevog...
s tim da če toyota do sljedeče sezone sredit i potrošnju....mmm sezona če bit prava poslastica
