Because the weight balance of the X-BOW is more towards the rear, it has a lot of traction but has a tendency to show some oversteer. lf you feel this characteristic to be difficult, you may want to set the car for more understeer. And though suspension settings will show some improvement, the most effective method will actually be adding some ballast weight to the front to change the front-to-rear weight balance. This will increase its weight, but the reduced PP will allow you to tune the car for more engine power.

The cornerstones on this course are fairly tall and hitting them can upset your car's balance quite badly; so it may be a good idea to slightly raise your ride height and avoid making the suspension too hard. The recommended cars for this event are those with a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout (MR), which tend to be easier to maintain drifts in, even with low engine power. Setting the rear toe inward in these cars will also improve controllability during drifts. The trick to achieving high scores is to continually drift through section 3 and the final section 4. The elevation change here may make your car unstable during drifting, so you may want to increase downforce in both the front and rear to alleviate this.

For beginners and intermediate-level drivers we recommend a stable 4WD car. If you choose a rear wheel drive however, careful throttle control will be required to avoid oversteering. In addition, this is one of those tracks where your driving skills will greatly affect your lap time. Raising engine power will destabilise cars riding on stock suspension; if you want to improve the floating feel you get from the controls, you'll want to upgrade the suspension, and harden the spring rate and dampers. On the Cape Ring, how you handle the banked corners will be key. To stabilise your angle in the bank, a strong negative camber setting for the front and rear wheels will be effective. Start adjusting from about 5 degrees to find what suits you. In terms of driving difficulty, the banked sections 2 and 3 will be the tricky parts. Section 2 will require you to enter the drift before the scoring section, and switching directions in section 3 will take some skill as it can throw your car off. Keep these two points in mind when you aim for the Gold prize.
