Though drifting will be easy on a snowy road, how long you can maintain your drift will determine the outcome. Once you initiate the drift, control the drift angle using the throttle, and if you start to lose the drift condition pull the handbrake to force the rear end to slide. Another important factor is the amount of counter steer. 4WD cars can become unstable if you give it too much counter steer, so you will want to keep in mind a style of driving that keeps the steering position as neutral as possible.

The event is staged at a special section set in the middle of the Cape Ring. Though there is only one scoring section, this is a challenging stage where repeating right-hand corners switch over to a left-hand turn. What is important here is high entry speed. If you are too slow, it will be difficult to maintain the drift, so try the corner envisioning a level of speed that won't throw your car off the track. Because the section is long, you can use course side objects like the MOTUL sign as a marker to gauge your approach.

4WD Rally Car Super Lap Time Trial Eiger Nordwand Short Track Time: 09:40    Track Surface Water: 40% This is a time trial event using 4WD rally cars with 500PP or less. This is the Eiger Nordwand in a half wet condition just after some rain. The key to success then is obviously in how you handle the slippery surface. Increase downforce for both the front and rear of the car, and lower and harden the suspension to improve handling. Also, if you are able to find a setting that give a slight oversteer at throttle, it will make it easier at the difficult repeating tight corners of this track.

The Death Valley special course has a very long flat out section which gives cars with more power the advantage, but if the car is heavy you will want to reduce weight to give it better balance. In effect there is only one driving line and there are many corners that will be entered at high speeds, so hardening the suspension to raise the response of the steering will make it easier to get the car on the intended line. Be careful not to overrun the corners due to overspeeding!
