1.3. By entering the Competition, each entrant promises he/she fulfils the above entry requirements. Failure to comply with any verification procedures operated by the Promoter will result in disqualification from the Competition and/or withdrawal of the Prize. In the event of any dispute concerning the eligibility of any entrant to participate in the Competition, the Promoter’s decision shall be final. In any event, the jurisdiction clause (see Rule 1.18 of Part D “GENERAL” below) shall apply to any disputes arising from said decision.

2.1. The opening date for receipt of entries is 09:00 GMT on Monday 2 June 2008 and the closing date for receipt of entries is 23:59 GMT on Friday 18 July 2008 (the “Entry Period”).

3. To enter, you must first register - how do I register?
3.1. Entrants must first agree to these Terms and Conditions and then register their PSN Account sign-in ID and password and other details (name, address and telephone number) on www.gtacademy.eu (the “Website”). Entrants must follow all the entry instructions on the Website.

PART B: HOW DO I ENTER

1. The Online Time Trial
1.1 After registering their details, entrants can enter the Competition by completing an online time trial available in the Game. The time trial requires entrants to drive around the Eiger Nordwand track using the Fairlady z 07 car in the fastest possible time (“Time Trial”). Entrants must purchase a Fairlady z 07 car (by earning sufficient credits in the Game in the manner detailed in the same Game) to complete the Time Trial. The time that each entrant takes to complete the Time Trial will be recorded, stored and collated by the Promoter.

1.2 Entrants can complete as many Time Trials as they wish during the Entry Period.

1.3 The twenty entrants from each participating country or territory who have achieved the fastest Time Trials from all entries made within that country or joint territory by the closing date of the Competition (i.e. by the end of the Entry Period) (“Qualifying Entrants”) will qualify for stage two of the Competition, the National Final. For the purposes of this Competition, Austria and Germany shall be considered a territory and the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland shall be considered a territory.

2. The National Final
2.1. All Qualifying Entrants will be contacted in writing by the Promoter as soon as practicable after the closing date of the Competition (it is intended that this will be about 1 week after the closing date) and invited to take part in a National Final. In the event that a Qualifying Entrant does not wish to continue participating in the Competition or is disqualified from the Competition in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may, at its discretion, select a substitute entrant to become a Qualifying Entrant. Such substitute entrant shall be the entrant from the same participating country or territory as the original Qualifying Entrant, who registered the next fastest Time Trial.

2.2. The National Final will take place in each participating country or territory at a designated location, on dates to be specified (it is intended that it will take place within 1 month of the closing date of the Competition).

2.3. All Qualifying Entrants must complete a medical questionnaire and sign a participation agreement (and return such documentation to the Promoter) prior to participating in the National Final. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who eventually fails to comply with this requirement, or who the Promoter reasonably considers (based on the contents of the medical questionnaire) has a physical or mental condition which would make them unsuitable to participate in any part of GT Academy or could prevent the Qualifying Entrant from holding a competition licence for motor sports.

2.4. The content of the participation agreement will require Qualifying Entrants to:
2.4.1 confirm their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions;
2.4.2 commit to attending the event at Silverstone should they win the National Final;
2.4.3 commit to taking part in all necessary training and racing events leading up to and including the Dubai 2009 24 hour race should they win the event at Silverstone; and
2.4.4 consent to being interviewed, photographed and filmed during all stages of the Competition and the Prize and for any resultant footage, stills and audio to be used by the Promoter and the Sony group of companies, and Nissan, for their own promotional purposes in connection with the Competition, the Prize and/or the Game, in perpetuity, in all media, subject to the terms of Rule 1.13 under Part D “GENERAL” below.

2.5. During the National Final, Qualifying Entrants will be required to:
2.5.1 complete various time trials in the Game
2.5.2 take part in a number of challenges that will test their physical and mental aptitudes (including physical fitness)
2.5.3 undergo an MSA medical to confirm their fitness to participate in any part of GT Academy and to comply with all relevant international racing licence requirements. The MSA is the national sporting authority of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in the UK.

2.6. The Promoter will be responsible for supplying all relevant equipment at the National Finals including a PS3 and a copy of the Game.

2.7. Up to three Qualifying Entrants from each National Final who have passed the medical and who have recorded the fastest time trials and been awarded the highest scores in the physical and mental challenges at the National Final (“National Final Winners”) will win the opportunity to participate in the GT Academy, described below.

PART C: THE PRIZE – GT ACADEMY

1. Silverstone Event (“Event”)
1.1. All National Final Winners will be notified in writing by the Promoter as soon as practicable after the National Final (it is intended that National Final Winners will be contacted within 1 week of the date of the National Final) and invited to take part in the Event (a four day event which will take place at Silverstone racing circuit in the UK on dates to be specified). It is intended that the Event will take place within 6 weeks of the date of the last National Final. National Final Winners must claim their prize within 10 working days of the notification.

1.2. In the event that a National Final Winner does not wish to continue participating in the Promotion, or fails to claim their Prize within the relevant deadline, or is disqualified from the Promotion in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may at its discretion select a substitute Qualifying Entrant to become a National Final Winner. Such substitute entrant shall have participated in the same National Final as the original Qualifying Entrant and shall have passed all relevant medical tests and recorded the next fastest time trials and been awarded the next highest scores in the physical and mental challenges at the National Final.

1.3. The following shall be arranged for each National Final Winner:
1.3.1 Economy class return flights from an international airport of the National Final Winner to a London airport or standard fare train/coach travel from a nominated train station of a UK National Final Winner to a train/coach station near Silverstone racing circuit
1.3.2 Transfers to and from Silverstone racing circuit and the London airport or train station
1.3.3 At least 3 nights accommodation in a 3* hotel or above
1.3.4 Travel insurance
1.3.5 Meals and refreshments during the Event

Winners are responsible for their transport to and from their home and their nearest international airport or train station.

1.4. During the Event, National Final Winners will:
1.4.1 receive training from Silverstone Circuits Ltd (or another comparable motor racing training provider) and their agents
1.4.2 compete in a series of real driving events against other National Final Winners
1.4.3 take part in a number of rigorous challenges that will test their physical and mental aptitudes (including physical fitness)

1.5. An independent panel of up to 6 expert judges will be present during the Event and will evaluate each National Winner based on their performance during each driving event and challenge. The objective judging criteria to be implemented in this part of GT Academy will be explained in more detail to National Final Winners during the Event. The judges’ names shall be available on request to the Promoter.

1.6. Following completion of the Event, the judges will select the two National Final Winners who have demonstrated the best overall performance and the greatest potential to become a professional racing car driver at this phase of the Competition (the “Silverstone Winners”). Such Silverstone Winners shall win an opportunity to take part in a training programme, apply for an international competition licence and, subject to obtaining such a licence, the opportunity to drive at the Dubai 2009 24 hour race.

1.7. In the event that a Silverstone Winner does not wish to continue participating in the Competition, or is disqualified from the Competition in accordance with the Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may at its discretion select a substitute National Final Winner to become a Silverstone Winner. Such substitute entrant shall be the National Final Winner from the Event who passed all relevant medical tests and demonstrated the next best overall performance and potential to become a racing car driver during the Event phase of the Competition.

1.8. The names of the Silverstone Winners will be announced on the last day of the Event.

1.9. A participant may be barred from participating in any part of the driving elements of the Event if he/she does not pass the relevant medical test or is not qualified, or is disqualified, to drive a road car.

2. Training for the International Racing Licence
2.1 The two Silverstone Winners will be invited to train with a motor racing team over a period of 18 weeks (“Training Programme”). The Training Programme will comprise:
2.1.1 Up to two test or practice sessions in the UK. These could take place at any time (including week days) between 5 September 2008 and 9 January 2009.

These will be held in a variety of locations in the UK and could take place on any given weekday or weekend between 5 September 2008 and 3 January 2009. Silverstone Winners must complete each event in full and the must obtain the necessary “signature” from an MSA steward confirming their attendance before progressing to the next event.
2.1.3 A pre-determined personalised fitness plan.

2.2 Each Silverstone Winner:
2.2.1 Economy class return flights from an international airport of the Silverstone Winner to an airport near the relevant training/racing event or standard fare return train/coach travel from the nearest train/coach station of a UK Silverstone Winner to a station near the relevant training/racing event
2.2.2 Transfers to and from the relevant racing/training location and the airport or train/coach station
2.2.3 Overnight accommodation in a 3* hotel or above where training/racing is over more than one day

2.4 Silverstone Winners will be required to sign a motorsport related management contract with the relevant racing team or its agents before the commencement of any training. Such contract will contain a prohibition on the Silverstone Winner driving for another professional racing team during the course of the Competition. Silverstone Winners may be required to provide written confirmation from their employer (if applicable) that their employer is willing for them to participate in the Competition.

2.5 Silverstone Winners must comply with all training requirements laid down by the Promoter and/or the racing team. The provision of training is not a guarantee that a Silverstone Winner will obtain an international competition licence from the MSA and the Promoter or Nissan shall not be held liable in the event that such a licence is not granted for any reason. In the event that a Silverstone Winner is unable to obtain an international competition licence, the opportunity to race at the Dubai 2009 24 hour race shall be withdrawn and no alternative prize or opportunity will be offered.

2.6 The cost of each Silverstone Winner’s international competition licence application fee and applicable European postage fee charged by the MSA, and any entry fees to training events and races shall be covered by the Promoter or its agents, and Silverstone Winners shall be provided with all relevant racing uniform, equipment and vehicles at the various racing events.

3. The 2009 Dubai 24 hour race

3.4. The motor racing team and/or its agents will define the timetable and driving schedule for the Licence Holders.

3.5. There is no guarantee that a Licence Holder will race in the Dubai 2009 24 hour race. This is a matter which will ultimately be decided by the motor racing team and is at their sole and absolute discretion.

PART D: GENERAL

1.1 All entrants must adhere to the PlayStation Network Terms and Conditions available at http://network.eu.playstation.com/tosua/index.html.

1.2 No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible or corrupted entries will be accepted. No entries not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or any entry instructions will be accepted.

1.3 The Promoters cannot accept responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of server functions, technical issues, virus, bugs or other causes outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.

No cash alternative will be offered. In the event of cancellation/amendment of the Competition or substitution of the Prize, the parties expressly agree that, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws, the entrant will not be entitled to any compensation. No correspondence will be entered into.
